Southwest Tribes: YUMA

	Yuma The Yuma speak from the Yuman Language family. The Yuma had patrilineal clans and only after marriage did a woman have a clan name. There was no marriage ceremony. The people were mainly monogamous. Work was divided by gender. Women were the farmers and did the gathering. Men fished and hunted. Men were also the warriors and would acquire crops by warring with other people or destroy their crops.
