Violence Kinsey - 1950s In the city of Ashdod, there are numerous
Sex Revolution-60s artifacts to suggest a deity by the same

name. There are female cult figurines found everywhere, called "Ashdodas." These female cult figurines
are of a motherlike figure with a child. There are also model figurines of beds. Whether "Ashdod" is
another name for Astarte, it's own god or goddess, or simply just a name of a city where the women had
a lot of kids and liked beds is unknown to me. I'd presume that since there are so many figurines,
that it was the patron deity of the city.
