	Maidu The Maidu Language is part of the Penutian Language Family. There was no formal marriage among the Maidu, the couple just began living together. The Maidu have a patrilocal residency. When a boy wanted a bride, he simply brought gifts of food to the bride's parents and lives there briefly. From there the couple moves out on their own.
